Pat McGuigan first became famous in Ireland in 1963. He released a song with a group called "the Big Four." This song was very popular and reached number 7 on the Irish music charts.
Representing Ireland at Eurovision
Five years later, in 1968, Pat had a big moment. He was chosen to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. For this event, he used the stage name Pat McGeegan. His song was called "Chance of a Lifetime." He did very well in the contest, finishing in fourth place! The song was a huge hit in Ireland. It even reached number one on the Irish Singles Chart in April 1968.

After his success at Eurovision, Pat released several music albums. He also put out many more single songs. Even though he didn't reach the top twenty charts again, his music was still loved. On June 13, 1986, Pat had a special honor. He sang the American national anthem before a big boxing match in New Jersey. This fight was between Carlos Santos and Buster Drayton.
