Patience Ozokwor (born on September 14, 1958), also known as Mama G, is a famous Nigerian actress and musician. She is well-known for playing strong characters in movies. Patience Ozokwor won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in both 2012 and 2013. In 2014, she was honored as one of the top 100 Nigerians by the government. More recently, in May 2023, she received the Merit Award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.

Early Life and Education

Patience Ozokwor was born in a village called Amaebo, in Ngwo, Enugu State, Nigeria. She went to Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos. From a young age, Patience loved acting and performed in many school plays.

She later studied fine and applied arts at the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu. Before becoming a movie star, she worked in radio drama. She also appeared in a TV show called "Someone Cares" on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Patience got married when she was 19 years old. She has three biological children and five adopted children, all of whom use her last name. She became a widow in the year 2000.

Her Acting Journey

Before she became a well-known actress, Patience Ozokwor worked as an announcer and broadcaster for Radio Nigeria. She became very famous after starring in the 1999 movie Authority. Her first TV drama was the soap opera "Someone Cares".

Since then, she has acted in over 100 movies! She has played many different roles, often portraying strong or challenging characters. She also appeared in the popular Netflix movies Chief Daddy (2018) and Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke (2022) as Madam Pat.

Personal Life

Patience Ozokwor married at the age of 19. She later lost her husband. She has four biological children, three adopted children, and many grandchildren. She is also an ordained evangelist.
