Patricia studied various musical subjects, including piano, organ, composition, and conducting. She studied in Frankfurt am Main, Vienna, and Paris. From 1971 to 1978, she attended the Vienna Music Academy. After finishing her studies in 1977, she first worked as a pianist and organist. Later, she decided to focus on composing music full-time. She even set up her own studio.

Recently, Patricia has been creating more electroacoustic works. This means she uses electronic sounds and technology in her music. In 1986, she was awarded the Karl Sczuka Prize for her radio play 'Sehr geehrter Herr - ein Requiem'. This was a very special moment because she was the first woman composer ever to receive this prestigious prize.
