Patton is a small place in Indiana that isn't officially a town or city. It's known as an unincorporated community. You can find it in Carroll County, specifically within Jefferson Township.
History of Patton
Patton got its start thanks to a person named H. Patton. The community was named after him.
Early Services
A post office was opened in Patton in 1880. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. It eventually closed down in 1913.
Railroad Connection
Patton was also located along the Monon Railroad. This railroad was an important way for people and goods to travel. Being on the railroad meant Patton was connected to other places.
