Discovering Paul Bunyan Land

Paul Bunyan Land is a special place where you can enjoy many different rides and attractions. It's a great spot for families and friends to make lasting memories. The park combines the thrill of rides with the charm of a historic farm setting.

The Story of the Park

The park first opened its doors in 1950. Back then, it was known as the Paul Bunyan Center and was located in Baxter, Minnesota. A man named Sherm Levis started it. He built the park around the huge Paul Bunyan statue, which he and Roy Kuemicheal had bought a year earlier.

Over the years, the park grew a lot, adding more than 40 rides! But in 2003, the park faced some challenges because it was very expensive to run. It looked like it might have to close down and sell everything off.

A New Beginning for the Park

Luckily, a local family-owned business called This Old Farm stepped in. They loved the park and wanted to keep it going. So, they bought the famous statues of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox, Babe, along with all the rides!

They carefully moved the entire park to their land, which is about six miles east of Brainerd, right on State Highway 18. This move gave Paul Bunyan Land a fresh start, allowing new generations to enjoy its magic. Today, it continues to be a popular spot for adventure and fun in Minnesota.
