Paul Frew was born on 20 September 1974. He is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). From June to July 2021, he served as the Minister for the Economy.
Since 2010, Paul Frew has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for North Antrim. He is also the DUP's spokesperson for Tourism and Hospitality.
Before becoming an MLA, Frew was a local council member. He served on the Ballymena Borough Council from 2005 to 2014. He represented the Braid area.
Who is Paul Frew?
Paul Frew grew up in a place called Kells. He trained to be an electrician. He once said that his "university was the building sites of Belfast." This means he learned a lot from working on construction sites.
Early Life and Public Service
Paul Frew joined the DUP in the year 2000. In 2005, he was elected to the Ballymena Borough Council. This was his first step into local politics.
In 2010, he became a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly. He took over from Ian Paisley, Jr as the MLA for North Antrim. An MLA helps make laws and decisions for Northern Ireland.

In 2021, Paul Frew took on a big role. He became the Minister for the Economy. This job meant he helped make decisions about business and jobs in Northern Ireland. He held this position for about a month.
