Paula Yacoubian, whose full name is Paulette Siragan Yaghobian, was born on April 4, 1976. She is a famous journalist, TV host, and politician from Lebanon. She has worked for many television stations in Lebanon and other Arab countries.
Paula is known for making a big difference in her work and community. She was chosen by the World Bank group to be part of their team that advises on diversity and inclusion. This was because she strongly supports women's rights and helps women become more powerful. She also fights for fairer election rules in Lebanon, including having more women in politics.
In 2018, Paula decided to run for the Lebanese Parliament. She won a seat in the elections held on May 6, 2018. On August 8, 2020, she resigned from Parliament. She called for a new government after a large explosion happened in Beirut in 2020.

Paula's Career Journey
Starting in Television
Paula Yacoubian began her career in June 1995 at ICN. This was a Lebanese TV station. She was only 19 years old. Her boss, Henri Sfeir, encouraged her. She quickly became well-known for broadcasting news and interviews. She often appeared on the station's news programs. Later, she became the head of the station's international news department. She also had her own talk show called Al Sulta al Raabi'a, which means "the Fourth Power."
Moving to Other Channels
After ICN closed, Paula moved to LBCI. She hosted the morning show Nharkon Saeed, meaning "Good Morning." She also presented news on the channel's international broadcasts. Then, she joined MTV where she hosted a program called Min al Akhar.
Later, Paula worked for the Arab Radio and Television Network (ART). There, she hosted many shows on different channels. Some of her programs included Ded al Tayyar, Liqaa' Khass, Roui'ya Waadiha, and Liqaa' min America. She then moved to Alhurra television in the United States.
Returning to Lebanon and Important Interviews
When Paula returned to Lebanon, she worked for Future TV. She hosted a news talk show called Inter-views. She conducted a very important live interview with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Saudi Arabia. This interview helped clear up worries about his situation there. He also announced his return to Lebanon during the interview.
Helping the Community
Paula Yacoubian is also a social activist. She always tries to help people who are less fortunate. She successfully started the "Dafa Campaign." This is one of the biggest and most successful donation campaigns in Lebanon and the Middle East.
The "Dafa Campaign" has helped many families. In November 2015, it reached 14,800 families. In December 2016, it helped 43,000 families. By 2017, it had reached over 100,000 families in Lebanon.
Paula also provides 15 scholarships for students. These scholarships help students who do very well in school but cannot afford their tuition fees.
Business and Training
Besides her media work, Mrs. Yacoubian is the CEO and General Manager of "Integrated Communications." This company specializes in communication strategies and media relations. It also offers public speaking training. Paula is a certified trainer. She has taken many training courses and workshops in the US. She has a degree in Administration and Political Science. She has been involved in political journalism since she was 17.
Paula has hosted shows on ICN, LBC, MTV, ART, and Future TV. She has interviewed many world leaders and important people. She has also led many public discussions and debates.
Re-entering Politics
Paula Yacoubian joined forces with other social activists. She ran for the Lebanese parliamentary elections in May 2018. On May 7, 2018, she made history. She became the first Armenian woman to win a seat in the Lebanese Parliament. After the 2020 Beirut explosions, she resigned on August 8, 2020, along with two other members of the Kataeb Party.
She was elected again to the Lebanese parliament in the 2022 elections. She is part of a 13-member group called the October 17 reformist bloc.
Paula's Personal Life
Paula Yacoubian is divorced and has one son. Her family is of Armenian descent. Her father was a survivor of the Armenian genocide.
Awards and Recognition
Paula Yacoubian has received many awards during her career. In August 2017, she received a very important award. King Philippe of Belgium gave her the Officer of the Order of the Crown. This award recognized all the great work she has done.
