*Club domestic league appearances and goals

Pavel Horváth is a former professional footballer from the Czech Republic. He was born on April 22, 1975, in Prague. Pavel played as a midfielder and was known for his skill on the field.

After retiring as a player, he became a football manager. He has managed several teams, including Příbram. Pavel played for 22 years as a professional, spending most of his career with Slavia Prague, Teplice, and Viktoria Plzeň. He played in 435 games and scored 78 goals in the Czech First League. He also played professionally in Portugal, Turkey, and Japan.

Pavel Horváth's Club Career Highlights

Pavel Horváth started his professional football journey with AC Sparta Prague. To get more playing time, he moved to FK Jablonec. His good performances there led him back to Prague, joining SK Slavia.

Playing for Slavia Prague

At Slavia Prague, Pavel scored 27 goals in four seasons. During his time there, the club won two national cups. His success with Slavia helped him get a transfer to Sporting Clube de Portugal in Portugal.

Playing Abroad and Return to Czech Republic

Pavel didn't play much at Sporting CP. He then moved to Galatasaray S.K. in Turkey, but also played very few games there. He soon returned to the Czech Republic to play for FK Teplice. With Teplice, he won another domestic cup in the 2002–03 season.

After three years playing in Japan for Vissel Kobe, Pavel came back to Sparta Prague for two more seasons. He won his first national championship with Sparta in 2007. He also helped them win the Czech Cup in 2007 and 2008.

Success with Viktoria Plzeň

At 33, Pavel joined FC Viktoria Plzeň. He scored eight goals in the 2008–09 season. He became the captain of Viktoria Plzeň and led them to their first ever Czech Cup title in 2010. In that same year, he was named the Personality of the League at the Czech Footballer of the Year awards.

Pavel continued to play well in the 2010–11 season. He scored eight goals in 26 games, helping Plzeň win the league championship for the first time in their history.

A Misunderstood Gesture

In September 2007, Pavel Horváth was fined 200,000 Czech koruna (Czech money). This happened after a league match where he made a gesture that was misunderstood. He apologized for the incident, explaining that he was only trying to calm down some fans.

Pavel Horváth's International Career

Pavel Horváth played for the Czech Republic national team. His first game was on February 9, 1999, in a friendly match against Belgium, which the Czech Republic won 1–0.

He played a total of 19 games for his country over three years. He was also chosen for the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, but he did not play in any matches during that competition. His chances to play more for the national team were limited because there were many other talented midfielders like Patrik Berger, Pavel Nedvěd, and Vladimír Šmicer.

Pavel Horváth's Coaching Career

After his playing career, Pavel Horváth moved into coaching. In October 2016, he became the manager of FC Viktoria Plzeň's Under-21 team. At the same time, he also worked as an assistant manager for the club's main team.
