History of Paynesville
Paynesville was named after an early settler. His name was Miller Payne. He was a pioneer, meaning he was one of the first people to settle in this area.
A powerful tornado hit Paynesville on March 2, 2012. This storm caused a lot of damage to the community. It was a very sad day for everyone living there. The tornado also affected the nearby community of Chelsea.
