Pearl Thusi, whose full name is Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi Mokhele, is a talented South African actress, model, and TV host. She was born on May 13, 1988. Pearl is famous for her roles in many TV shows and movies.
These include The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Quantico, and Catching Feelings. In 2020, she played the main character in Queen Sono. This was Netflix's first original series from Africa.

Pearl Thusi grew up in KwaNdengezi and Hammarsdale. These are townships near Durban in South Africa. She has two sisters.
She went to Pinetown Girls' High School. Later, she started studying at the University of the Witwatersrand. However, she took a break to focus on her acting career. In 2020, she went back to school at the University of South Africa.
Family Life
Pearl Thusi has two daughters. Her first daughter is Thando Mokwena. She also has an adopted daughter named Okuhlekonke Thusi.

In 2009, Pearl Thusi played Patricia Kopong. This was in the comedy-drama The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. The show was made by BBC and HBO.
In 2015, she appeared in the movie Tremors 5: Bloodlines. She played Dr. Nandi Montabu. That same year, she was in a music video for the rapper Emtee. The song was even called "Pearl Thusi"!
Breaking into International Shows
In 2016, Pearl Thusi joined the cast of Quantico. This was an ABC thriller series. She played Dayana Mampasi in the second season. She acted alongside Priyanka Chopra.
Also in 2016, Pearl was cast in the romantic drama film Catching Feelings. She played the character Samkelo. The movie came out in theaters in March 2018. In 2017, she starred as Brenda Riviera in the drama film Kalushi.
Queen Sono and Recent Work
In 2018, Pearl Thusi became the new host of Behind the Story on MTV Base. That same year, she got the main role in Queen Sono. This was a crime drama series for Netflix.
Queen Sono premiered on February 28, 2020. Critics really liked the show, and Pearl's acting was praised. Netflix planned a second season, but it was later canceled. This was because of problems with filming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On December 15, 2020, Pearl co-hosted the 1st KZN Entertainment Awards. She hosted it with Somizi Mhlongo. In February 2021, Pearl Thusi was cast in the Netflix movie Fistful of Vengeance. She played Zama Zulu. The movie was released in February 2022.
