Peart's Location and History
Peart was situated in Yolo County, California. Its exact coordinates are 38°43′02″N 121°45′34″W. The community was very close to the Southern Pacific Railroad. Railways were super important back then for moving people and goods. Peart was still shown on maps as late as 1915. This means it was an active, recognized place at least until that time.
Why Is Peart a "Former" Settlement?
A "former settlement" means that a place once had people living there, but it doesn't anymore. Over time, many small communities like Peart faded away. This could happen for many reasons. Maybe the railroad changed its route, or people moved to bigger towns for work. Whatever the reason, Peart is now just a historical location. It reminds us of the many small places that were once part of California's past.
