Peggy Ahern, whose full name was Peggy Lenore Ahearn Blaylock, was an American actress. She was born on March 9, 1917, and passed away on October 24, 2012. She is best known for acting in eight of the Our Gang films. These movies were released between 1924 and 1927. The Our Gang series was also called The Little Rascals. They were funny, short movies without sound, made by director Hal Roach. Peggy Ahern was one of the last actors from a Hal Roach film who was still alive.
Growing Up
Peggy Ahern was born in Douglas, Arizona. In 1921, when she was about four years old, her family moved. They went to live in Culver City, California.
Her Acting Career
Peggy started acting in movies when she was a child. Her first film was The Call of the Wild in 1923. This movie was made by Hal Roach and released by Universal Studios.
After that, she had small parts in two other movies in 1925:
- Excuse Me, which starred Norma Shearer.
- Not So Long Ago, with Ricardo Cortez and Betty Bronson.
The Little Rascals
Hal Roach then chose Peggy to be in eight of his famous Little Rascals films. These movies were made from 1924 to 1927.

Peggy Ahern and her sister, Lassie Lou Ahern, were performers together. They traveled and performed a song-and-dance act. This was part of a type of show called vaudeville, which was popular back then. They performed from 1932 until 1939. They also appeared in a short comedy musical film called Hollywood Party in 1937. This film was made by Charley Chase.
Passing Away
Peggy Ahern passed away on October 24, 2012. She was 95 years old.
