Pendroy's History
How Pendroy Started
Pendroy began when the Great Northern Railway was built. By 1916, the community had important railway buildings. These included a depot (where trains stopped), a roundhouse (for repairing trains), and a section house (for railway workers).
Who Pendroy is Named After
The community is named after a local homesteader named Levi "Boots" Pendroy. He was a friend of James J. Hill, who was the person who started the Great Northern Railway.
