Penny Dwyer (born Penelope Rosemary Dwyer; 24 September 1953 – 4 September 2003) was a talented British comedy writer and performer. She was famous for being part of a comedy group called Cambridge Footlights. Their show, The Cellar Tapes, won the very first Perrier Comedy Award in 1981. Some other well-known comedians in that group were Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, and Emma Thompson.
