A Look Back: The People's Choice Casino
The People's Choice Casino was once a popular spot in Las Vegas. It was known for its gaming and entertainment.
How It Started
The story of the People's Choice Casino began with a woman named Sarann Knight-Preddy. She and her husband, Joe, bought a business called Woody's Supper Club. They decided to change its name to Sarann's Supper Club.
Sarann Knight-Preddy had a dream to create a fancy dining club. However, she soon realized that the kitchen was too small. Also, the cost of food supplies would make the meals too expensive for customers.
From Supper Club to Casino
Because of these challenges, Preddy changed her plans. She decided to turn the supper club into a casino instead. She renamed it again to the People's Choice Casino.
She worked to get a special license for gaming. Once she had it, she added popular casino games. These included poker and blackjack tables.
Years of Operation
The People's Choice Casino had licenses for blackjack, poker, and slot machines. Sarann Knight-Preddy owned and operated the casino for about seven years.
It is not exactly known when the casino closed its doors for good. It was still listed as an active business in the phone book in 1989. Also, someone named Clarence Ray said in an interview that it was still open in 1991.
