Perrysville: A Small Community
The township's offices and maintenance garage are in a small community called Perrysville. This place was first planned out in 1835.
A post office opened in Perrysville in 1848. It stayed open until 1954. To avoid confusion with another place called Perrysville in Ashland County, the postal service gave this Perrysville a special name: Lamartine.

The township was originally called "North." However, its name was changed shortly after Carroll County was officially formed.
