Bryan Owen "Pete" Young was born on March 19, 1968. He is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Pete was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Montreal Expos for parts of two seasons in 1992 and 1993. During his time in the MLB, he played in 17 games, always as a relief pitcher.

Pete Young's Baseball Journey
Starting in College
Pete Young went to Mississippi State University. There, he played college baseball and became a strong pitcher. In 1987, he also played summer baseball. This was in the Cape Cod Baseball League for a team called the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
Getting Drafted
Pete was first chosen by a professional team on June 2, 1986. The Cincinnati Reds picked him in the 22nd round of the amateur draft. But Pete decided not to sign with them. Instead, he chose to go to Mississippi State University. He wanted to keep getting better as a pitcher there.
Later, on June 5, 1989, Pete was drafted again. This time, the Montreal Expos picked him in the 6th round. He was the 148th player chosen overall. This time, Pete signed with the Expos. He began playing in their minor league teams.
Playing in the Major Leagues
Pete Young made his first big league appearance on June 5, 1992. He was 24 years old. In his first game, he pitched for 1.2 innings against the Cincinnati Reds. He also got one strikeout. The Expos lost that game 10-4.
Pete played his last major league game for the Expos on July 18, 1993. After that, on February 18, 1994, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox team. However, his baseball career ended that season. He did not get to play for the main Red Sox team.
