Peter Cunnah: A Musical Journey
Peter Cunnah has been involved in music since the 1990s. He has worked as a singer, written many songs, and helped produce music for other artists. His journey shows how much he loves creating music.
The Story of D:Ream
Before D:Ream, Peter was the lead guitarist for a band called Tie the Boy. This band was briefly signed to a record label owned by the famous band U2. After the band moved to London, they broke up.
Peter then started thinking about new ways to use his songs. He teamed up with DJ Al Mackenzie. They first planned for D:Ream to be a "faceless" dance act. This meant a different singer would perform their songs. Peter wanted to focus on writing and producing music.
However, Peter ended up singing at a live show. He really enjoyed it! So, he decided to become the main singer for D:Ream himself. The group quickly became popular in clubs. They soon got deals with managers and record companies.
Peter's Solo Adventures
After D:Ream, Peter Cunnah continued to work in music. He wrote and produced songs for other popular groups. These included Steps and A1. He also sang on a song called "Love on the Run" by Chicane in 2003. This song reached number 33 in the UK music charts. Peter also helped create music for the Japanese cartoon show InuYasha.
Peter later returned to performing live with a guitar-based band called Shane. Their first song, "The Weight of This," came out in May 2006. In Shane, Peter plays with two old friends. Paul Greendale plays guitar, and Mark Roberts plays drums. Peter knew Mark from their time in the band Tie The Boy. Peter has also produced music for Ben Kelly, a singer who appeared on The Voice UK.
