Peter Kilabuk was born on September 27, 1960, in Pangnirtung, which was then part of the Northwest Territories and is now in Nunavut, Canada. He is a retired Canadian politician. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the area of Pangnirtung in the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut from 1999 to 2008.
On June 9, 2006, Peter Kilabuk was chosen to be the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The Speaker is like a referee who makes sure meetings run smoothly. He decided not to run for re-election in the 2008 election.
Before he became an MLA, Mr. Kilabuk worked for Parks Canada. He is also a member of the Canadian Rangers, which is a group of part-time reservists who help with safety and security in remote areas of Canada.
