Adamee Komoartok's Political Journey
Adamee Komoartok was chosen to be a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the electoral district of Pangnirtung. This happened during the 2008 election in Nunavut. An MLA is like a local representative who helps make decisions for their community.
End of His Term
On March 15, 2011, Adamee Komoartok announced that he was stepping down from his role as the MLA for Pangnirtung. He shared this news on the community radio. After his resignation, a special election, called a by-election, was held to choose a new representative for the area. This by-election took place within six months of his resignation.
