His Life and Work
Peter Klusen was born in a city called Mönchengladbach. He studied at two universities: Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and RWTH Aachen University. He learned about the German language, how to write for newspapers (journalism), and how society works (social science). After his studies, he became a teacher. He taught at a special university called FernUniversität Hagen, which is a distance learning university. He also taught at Franz-Meyers High School in Mönchengladbach.
Writing for Young People
Starting in 1980, Peter Klusen began writing plays especially for children and teenagers. His plays often talk about important topics. He writes about the challenges faced by people who feel like outsiders. He also explores how friends can influence each other (peer pressure). Another common theme is how people form ideas about others before they know them (prejudice).
But Peter Klusen doesn't just write about serious topics. He has also created wonderful fairy-tale plays. He writes poems, short stories, and even crime stories. He has also rewritten classic children's books to make them fresh and new.
Awards and Recognition

Translator and Cartoonist
Peter Klusen has also worked as a translator. He translated Mark Twain's famous book, The Prince and the Pauper, into German in 1996. He even turned this story into a play. This play was first performed in 2003 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum theater.
