Peter Stefanovic's Career
Starting in Television
Peter Stefanovic began his career in television in 2002. He worked for WIN Television, reporting for WIN News. He reported from different places like Rockhampton and Canberra.
Working for the Nine Network
In 2004, Peter joined the Nine Network. He worked as a reporter for Nine News and A Current Affair. Later, he became a foreign correspondent. This meant he reported news from other countries. He was based in Nine's offices in Los Angeles and London.
After many years as a foreign correspondent, Peter came back to Australia in mid-2015. He became a senior reporter and presenter for Nine News. He also wrote a book about his experiences. The book is called Hack in a Flak Jacket: Dispatches from an Aussie Foreign Correspondent. It was published in 2016.
Hosting TV Shows
In 2016, Peter Stefanovic became a co-host of Weekend Today. He hosted the show with Deborah Knight. He stayed on the program until 2017. Then, he moved to 60 Minutes. He filled in for Allison Langdon while she was on maternity leave. Tom Steinfort took his place on Weekend Today.
In January 2018, Peter returned to Weekend Today. He co-hosted the show again, this time with Allison Langdon. In December 2018, he left the Nine Network.

In May 2019, Peter Stefanovic started working for Sky News Australia. He became a co-host of First Edition with Laura Jayes. During an interview in May 2024, Stefanovic asked a teenager about a past event. The interview caused some discussion, and both Stefanovic and Sky News Australia later said sorry.

His older brother, Karl Stefanovic, also hosts a TV show called Today. He also has an older sister and a younger brother named Tom. Tom used to be a cameraman for Nine News.
