Where the Petite Rivière Eusèbe Starts and Flows
The Petite Rivière Eusèbe begins its journey from a very small lake in Saint-Félicien. This lake is about 156 m (512 ft) (or 512 ft (156 m)) above sea level. It's located where the farms meet the forest. A small stream called the Thibeault branch feeds this lake.
The source of the river is:
- About 1.6 km (0.99 mi) (1 mi (1.6 km)) north-west of Boulevard du Jardin (which is Route 169).
- About 4.9 km (3.0 mi) (3 mi (4.8 km)) south-west of the Ashuapmushuan River.
- About 9.4 km (5.8 mi) (5.8 mi (9.3 km)) west of where the Petite Rivière Eusèbe ends.
The River's Journey
From its start, the Petite Rivière Eusèbe flows for about 8.5 km (5.3 mi) (5.3 mi (8.5 km)). It drops about 55 m (180 ft) (180 ft (55 m)) in height along its path. Most of its journey is through farmlands and then through the town.
Here's how the river flows:
- For the first 1.4 km (0.87 mi) (0.9 mi (1.4 km)), it goes southeast. It crosses the Rang Simple path and collects water from the Castonguay Branch.
- Then, for 3.9 km (2.4 mi) (2.4 mi (3.9 km)), it continues southeast. It crosses Chemin du Rang Double and picks up water from the South Branch. It also meets the rivière à la Carpe.
- Finally, for 3.2 km (2.0 mi) (2 mi (3.2 km)), it flows southeast through Saint-Félicien. It crosses Boulevard du Jardin and Boulevard Saint-Félicien. It also collects water from the Germain stream before reaching its mouth.
Where the River Ends
The Petite Rivière Eusèbe flows into the Ashuapmushuan River. This meeting point is in downtown Saint-Félicien. It's right at the foot of the Saint-Félicien Boulevard bridge, which crosses the Ashuapmushuan River.
This spot is located:
- About 0.34 km (0.21 mi) (0.21 mi (0.34 km)) north-east of the railway tracks.

From the mouth of the Petite rivière Eusèbe, the water travels down the Ashuapmushuan River for 11.4 km (7.1 mi) (7.1 mi (11.4 km)). Then it crosses Lac Saint-Jean for 41.1 km (25.5 mi) (25.5 mi (41.0 km)). After that, it follows the Saguenay River for 172.3 km (107.1 mi) (107.1 mi (172.4 km)) eastwards to Tadoussac. There, it joins the Saint Lawrence Estuary, which is a huge arm of the Atlantic Ocean.
