Count Philip Joseph Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau was an important leader in the Kingdom of Bohemia. He lived from 1700 to 1749. His full name in Czech was Filip Josef Kinský z Vchynic a Tetova, and in German it was Philipp Joseph Graf Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau. Philip Kinsky's Early Life
Philip Kinsky was born in Prague, a famous city. He was part of the well-known Kinsky family. His father was Count Wenceslaus Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau, who was also a Bohemian high chancellor. His mother was Countess Maria Anna Theresia von Nesselrode-Ereshoven. Philip was born in 1700, and his father passed away in 1719.

On November 17, 1722, Philip Kinsky married Countess Marie Karolína Bořitová z Martinic. Together, they had eight children.

Philip Kinsky's Important Career
Count Kinsky received an excellent education. He was very interested in many things, including making education better in Bohemia.
Serving as an Ambassador
From 1728 to 1736, he worked for Emperor Charles VI. He was an Imperial envoy in London. This meant he was like an ambassador, representing his country in another land.
Working for Queen Maria Theresa
In 1741, he joined the government of Queen Maria Theresa. He quickly became a trusted adviser and friend to the Queen. He was known for having a strong personality. Some people found him stubborn or arrogant, so he wasn't always popular.
A Member of the Royal Society
In 1731, he was chosen to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of London. This is a very old and respected group of scientists and thinkers. Being a Fellow means he was recognized for his knowledge and contributions.
