Philip Wiegratz is a German actor who was born on February 17, 1993. He is best known for his very first movie role as Augustus Gloop in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton.

Philip Wiegratz's Acting Journey
Philip Wiegratz was born in Magdeburg, Germany. He became famous for playing the character of Augustus Gloop in the 2005 movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Augustus Gloop is known for being very greedy.
Philip went to an audition for the movie without knowing which part he might get. But a casting director noticed him and put him on a list of actors considered for the role of Augustus. Philip had to go back for more auditions. Finally, he got the part! This was his first movie where he spoke English. He also had to wear a special suit to look bigger, called a fatsuit. Philip even did his own stunts when Augustus falls into the chocolate river in Wonka's Chocolate Room.

In 2006, Philip starred in a movie called Wild Chicks. This film was based on a popular book series by Cornelia Funke. He played a member of a boy group called the Pygmies. The movie was very successful, and he also appeared in a sequel the next year.
Both Wild Chicks movies were very popular. Philip and some of his co-stars even appeared on the German children's TV show Ki.Ka Live in 2007. Later, in 2012, he played a character named Helmut in the movie Lore. In 2013, he acted as Gordon Gelderman in the film Ruby Red.
