About Philipp
Philipp Tischendorf was born in Berlin, Germany. This happened on June 7, 1988. When he was six, in 1994, he went to a special school. This school in Berlin was for young athletes.
Philipp comes from a very sporty family. His mom was a gymnast. His dad played volleyball at a high level. His brother Robert played football. His sister Nadine and brother Max also did figure skating.
His older sister, Nadine, got him interested in skating. He was only three and a half years old then.
His Skating Journey
Philipp started his skating career with coach Jürgen Bertko. He began competing in junior international events in 2004. These events are part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix series.
Big Competitions
The 2006–2007 season was a big one for Philipp. He won a silver medal at the German Championships. This was in the senior category. Because of this, he got to represent Germany.
He competed at the 2007 European Figure Skating Championships. These championships were held in Warsaw. He did well enough in the first part to move on. He finished 15th overall at this event.
Later that year, he went to the 2007 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. This competition was in Oberstdorf. He placed 13th overall among the world's best junior skaters. During this time, his coach was Romy Österreich. She was an Olympic silver medalist herself.
Injury and Comeback
In March 2007, Philipp had a serious injury. He was practicing a very difficult jump. It was a quadruple Lutz. This injury meant he could not skate for the entire 2007–2008 season.
In 2009, he moved from Berlin to Oberstdorf. He started training with a new coach there. His new coach was Michael Huth. Philipp also served in the Bundeswehr. This is the German army, where he was a sportsperson.
Competitive Achievements
