Phoebe Millicent Hearst Cooke (July 13, 1927 – November 18, 2012) was an American businesswoman. She was also a generous person who gave money to good causes, known as a philanthropist. She was a granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, who was a very famous newspaper publisher.
Phoebe Cooke was a member of the board of directors for the Hearst Corporation. This is a big company that owns many newspapers, magazines, and TV channels. She served on the board from 1962 to 1998. Her twin brother, George Randolph Hearst Jr., was also involved with the Hearst Corporation.
Life and Interests
Phoebe Cooke lived most of her life in Woodside, California. She loved horses and was very active in the equestrian community. This means she was involved with horse riding and horse-related activities.
