The Phoenix Corporate Tower is a tall office building in Phoenix, Arizona. It was once known as the First Federal Savings Building. This building has 26 floors and stands out in the city's skyline.
It was built in 1965 and designed in a style called the International Style. This design is known for its simple, clean lines and modern look. The tower is located a bit north of Downtown Phoenix. At that time, many businesses were choosing to build outside the city center.
When it was finished, the Phoenix Corporate Tower became the tallest building in Phoenix. It took this title from the Meridian Bank Tower. The tower held the record for six years. In 1971, the Wells Fargo Plaza was completed and became the new tallest building.

History of the Tower
Original Design and Features
When the Phoenix Corporate Tower was first built, it had some unique features. All the windows on the north and south sides had small balconies. These balconies added to the building's look.
There were also seven large columns on the outside. These columns went from the ground floor all the way to the top. At the top, they formed a series of arches. A special glass elevator was on the west side of the building. This elevator could take people to the very top floor.
Modern Updates and Changes
In 1990, a company called The Krausz Companies, Inc. bought the building. It was then known as "Prudential Plaza." They decided to give the tower a big makeover.
The balconies were removed from the windows. New glass was put in, making the outside walls smooth and flat. This change also made the inside space on each floor larger. Some of the vertical columns on the north and south sides were also taken away. These changes gave the building a more modern appearance. The glass elevator on the outside no longer works.
New Ownership and Renovations
In 2013, the building faced some financial challenges. A company called Colony Capital bought the building's mortgage. They took over ownership later that year.
Colony Capital has made many improvements to the Phoenix Corporate Tower. They renovated the main lobby, making it look new and welcoming. The outside of the building was also painted. They also built a special marketing center inside.
