Phyllis Chanez Francis (born May 4, 1992) is an American track and field athlete. She is famous for her amazing sprinting skills. Phyllis has won several gold medals in big competitions. Early Life and College Athletics

Phyllis Francis grew up in Queens, New York. She went to Catherine McAuley High School (Brooklyn). After high school, she attended the University of Oregon. She was a student there until 2014.

Setting Records in College

While at the University of Oregon, Phyllis became a record-breaker. She set the American and college indoor record for the 400-meter race. She won the 2014 NCAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship. This made her the first woman from the University of Oregon to win a 400-meter national NCAA title.
