Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein (Burmese: ဖြူဖြူကျော်သိန်း) is a famous pop singer from Myanmar. She is well-known for her exciting stage shows and unique costumes. Many people compare her style to that of Lady Gaga. Since 2008, she has also been a special ambassador for UNICEF, helping children around the world.

Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein's Early Life
Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein was born in Rangoon, Burma, on April 22, 1981. This city is now known as Yangon, Myanmar. Her father, Kyaw Thein, worked for the government. Her mother, Tin Tin Kyi, was a teacher at the Yangon University of Economics. Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein also has an older sister named Nyo Nyo Thein.
Before becoming a singer, she studied to be a physician. She graduated from the University of Medicine 1, Yangon.
Her Music Journey
Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein started her music career in 2003. Her first album was called Not Concerned Anymore (လုံးဝမသက်ဆိုင်တော့ပါ). In 2019, she became a judge on the popular TV show Myanmar Idol. She also works as a secretary for the Myanmar Music Association, which helps musicians in her country.
Speaking Up for What's Right
In 2021, there was a big change in the government of Myanmar. Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein decided to speak up about it. She joined many people who were peacefully protesting. She shared her thoughts both at public gatherings and online.
She supported a movement called "We Want Justice." This movement used a special hand sign, the three-finger salute, to show their message. Because she spoke out, some officials issued a warrant for her arrest. This meant she faced challenges for her actions, along with other famous people who also spoke up.
