Pilar Primo de Rivera (born November 4, 1907, died March 17, 1991) was an important Spanish politician. She was the daughter of General Miguel Primo de Rivera, who was a leader of Spain. Her brother, José Antonio Primo de Rivera, started a political group called the Falange.
Pilar was a strong supporter of the Falange. She led its Sección Femenina, which means "Women's Section." This group focused on teaching women traditional skills and values.
She lived through the Spanish Civil War. During this time, she met famous leaders like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Pilar tried to help the wives of those who fought against her side. She also supported King Juan Carlos I when he became king in 1975.
After the war, Pilar became the president of the Association of Sección Femenina Veterans. She held this role until she passed away. The main office for this group was at the Castle of La Mota.
Besides her political work, Pilar also collected many different forms of Spanish folklore. She was especially interested in regional music and traditional dances from Spain.
Pilar never got married. There was once an idea to arrange a marriage between her and Adolf Hitler. However, this plan never happened. Pilar later wrote that she would not have agreed for personal reasons. But she felt honored that the idea was even considered.
