Piltzville is a small community in Missoula County, Montana, in the United States. It's called a "census-designated place" (CDP) because it's a special area the government uses to collect information. It is not a city or town with its own local government. In 2020, about 372 people lived there.

A Look Back in Time

Piltzville has an interesting history! It was once a place where many people who worked at the big lumber mill in nearby Bonner lived. The community is named after a man named Billy Pilz. He became a very important person at the Bonner Mill, working as a "yard boss." His house was built way back in 1904.

A famous artist named Michael Cadieux grew up in Piltzville. He is well-known for his beautiful watercolor and oil paintings. Many of his artworks focus on important environmental topics.

Where Piltzville Is Located

Piltzville is found in the eastern part of Missoula County. It's right next to Bonner on its northwest side. The larger city of Missoula is about 7 miles (11 km) to the east.

Getting Around Piltzville

A major highway, Interstate 90, goes right through the community. You can get on or off the Interstate from Exit 109 in West Riverside or Exit 113 in Turah. There's also a local road, Montana Secondary Highway 210, that runs through Piltzville, right next to the Interstate.
