The Pinaymootang First Nation is a group of Indigenous people in Canada. Their traditional language is Ojibwe. In Ojibwe, their name Binemoodaang means 'Partridge Crop Place'. Their main home is the Fairford 50 Reserve in Fairford, Manitoba, Canada.

Where is Pinaymootang First Nation Located?

The Pinaymootang First Nation's main reserve, Fairford 50, is in Manitoba, Canada. It is about 220 kilometres (about 137 miles) from Winnipeg. You can find it along Provincial Trunk Highway 6 (PTH 6) in the Interlake Region of Manitoba.

The reserve shares borders with the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale. It also has a short border with the Little Saskatchewan First Nation. A large part of the reserve is on the shore of Lake St. Martin. The main village on the reserve is located at 51°35′55″N 98°41′32″W / 51.59861°N 98.69222°W / 51.59861; -98.69222.

Dunsekikan Island Reserve

There is a second part of the Fairford 50 reserve. This part is on Dunsekikan Island (51°37′26″N 98°26′32″W / 51.62389°N 98.44222°W / 51.62389; -98.44222) in Lake St. Martin. It is about ten miles east of the main part of the reserve. This island is geographically separate from the main land.

Who Lives in Pinaymootang First Nation?

The Pinaymootang First Nation has many members. About 1,300 people are officially registered to live on the Fairford 50 reserve. However, many other members live in different places. Around 1,600 additional members live in various other locations across Canada.

According to the 2011 Census, 989 people were living on the Fairford 50 reserve at that time.
