Pine Hill is a small place in Humboldt County, California. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county government.
Pine Hill has had a few different names over time. It was once called Tigerville, then Pine's Hill, and also East Sunnyside.

Pine Hill is found in northern California. It is about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) south of downtown Eureka. Eureka is a larger city nearby.
The area sits at an elevation of 135 feet (41 meters) above sea level. Today, Pine Hill is considered part of the larger unincorporated area around Eureka.
How Pine Hill Got Its Name
The name "Pine Hill" was chosen to honor a local person. It is named after Safford E. Pine. He was a dairy farmer who lived in the area.
