The Story of Pinhook
Pinhook has an interesting past, especially when it comes to its name!
How Pinhook Got Its Name
Pinhook wasn't always called Pinhook. When it was first planned out in 1847, its original name was New Durham.
The name "Pinhook" actually started as a joke. A nearby town, which was a bit of a rival, gave New Durham this funny nickname. But guess what? The people living in New Durham liked the name so much that they eventually started using it themselves! It just stuck.
Pinhook in the Movies
Did you know Pinhook even made it into a movie? The very first scene of a suspense movie called Nightmare in Chicago took place in Pinhook. This TV thriller was made in 1964.
