Pioneer Village (Utah) facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Pioneer Village is a special part of Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah. It's like a "living museum" where you can see how people lived long ago in Utah. Pioneer Village has many old items and memories kept in over two dozen buildings. These buildings show what life was like in Utah's past.

The village was started in 1938 near Salt Lake City by Horace and Ethel Sorensen. Later, in April 1975, Lagoon Amusement Park bought the collection from the Sons of Utah Pioneers. Pioneer Village then opened at Lagoon Park in 1976, letting everyone explore Utah's history.
