Piopio is a small town in the Waitomo District of New Zealand. It is located on State Highway 3, about 23 kilometers from Te Kūiti.

Piopio is a rural town that covers about 2.01 square kilometers. In 2018, its population was 465 people. This means there were about 231 people living in each square kilometer.
