Pippa Greenwood facts for kids
Pippa Greenwood is a well-known English plant expert. She helps people understand plants and solve garden problems. You might know her from TV shows like Gardeners' World or radio shows like Gardeners' Question Time. She has been a regular guest on the radio show since 1994. Pippa also worked as a garden helper for the TV series Rosemary and Thyme from 2003 to 2006.
Pippa's Education and Career
Pippa studied plants at Durham University. She learned all about how plants grow and what they need. Later, she earned a special degree from Reading University in the 1980s. This degree was in "crop protection," which means learning how to keep plants healthy.
For eleven years, Pippa worked at the Royal Horticultural Society's Plant Pathology Department in Wisley. In this role, she helped identify and fix problems that plants were having.
In 2007, Durham University gave Pippa a special award. They gave her an honorary doctorate because of her great work.
Pippa Greenwood lives in Hampshire, England.
