Film Adaptation

Pippi in the South Seas was made into a movie in 1970. The film has the same name as the book. In the movie, Pippi needs help from her friends, Annika and Tommy. They go on a sea adventure together. Their goal is to rescue Pippi's father. He has been captured by pirates!

The original Swedish name for this movie was PIPPI LÅNGSTRUMP PÅ DE SJU HAVEN. Sometimes it was also called PIPPI IN TAKA-TUKA-LAND. Inger Nilsson played the role of Pippi Longstocking. Maria Persson played Annika. The movie was directed by Olle Hellbom.
