Edvaldo Oliveira Chaves (born 4 August 1958) is a former Brazilian football player. He is better known by his nickname, Pita. He played as an attacking midfielder. Today, he works as a General Manager for Desportivo Brasil.

Pita's Playing Career
Pita played for several football clubs during his career. He started at Santos FC and played there from 1978 to 1984. After that, he moved to São Paulo, where he played from 1985 to 1988.
He also played for a French club, RC Strasbourg, in 1988–1989. Then he returned to Brazil to play for Guarani from 1989 to 1990.
Later, Pita played in Japan. He was with Fujita Industries and Nagoya Grampus Eight between 1990 and 1993. He finished his playing career in 1994 with Inter Limeira in Brazil.

Pita won several important titles during his time as a player.
- He won the Campeonato Paulista (São Paulo State League) three times: in 1978, 1985, and 1987.
- He also won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Brazilian League) in 1986.
