Planomicrobium alkanoclasticum |
Planomicrobium is a group of tiny living things called bacteria. You can only see them with a microscope! These bacteria are very small, but they are important in different parts of the world.
What is Planomicrobium?
Planomicrobium bacteria have interesting shapes. Some are shaped like tiny balls, which we call coccoid. Others are shaped like small rods. These bacteria can move around. They use one or two tiny, whip-like tails called flagella to swim. Think of them like little propellers! Planomicrobium bacteria also need oxygen to live and grow. This means they are aerobic, just like humans.
