Plantation Key Colony is a friendly neighborhood located in the beautiful upper Florida Keys. It's found on an island called Plantation Key. This area got its name because there used to be a big pineapple farm, or "plantation," here a long time ago!

Even though some houses in the northern part of Plantation Key might have a Tavernier zip code, all the homes in Plantation Key Colony are officially part of the Village of Islamorada. This means they pay taxes to Islamorada and get services like trash collection and police from the Village of Islamorada.

Where is Plantation Key Colony?

Plantation Key Colony is located in a sunny spot at coordinates 24.997 degrees North and 80.541 degrees West. It's not very high above the ocean, sitting at about 7 feet (or 2.1 meters) in elevation. This low elevation is common for islands in the Florida Keys.
