A Look Back in Time
Pleasant Mills began a long time ago. In 1850, a post office was opened there. This was very important for sending and receiving mail back then! Edward G. Coxen became the first Postmaster on January 16, 1850. The community got its name because it was a peaceful, or "pleasant," place. It was also located near a gristmill, which was a building where grain was ground into flour.
