Pocket Coffee is a yummy chocolate candy made by the Ferrero company. You can find it in many countries around the world. It first came out in Italy in 1968. Each Pocket Coffee is a small, dark chocolate shell with a surprise inside: liquid espresso coffee!
Just like other famous Ferrero treats like Rocher and Mon Chéri, Pocket Coffee is usually sold only from November to April. This helps keep them fresh and special! The idea for Pocket Coffee came from William Salice, who worked with Ferrero's owner, Michele Ferrero. In the early 1960s, he noticed that rest stops on Italian highways, called Autogrills, didn't have many quick snacks. Michele Ferrero wanted to create a treat for people who worked long hours, like truck drivers. He even came up with a cool slogan: "the energy of chocolate and the charge of coffee!"
