The main house in Port Patterson, where the McGill family lives, was built in 1938. It's a single-story building that has been expanded over the years to make more space. You'll also find a wool shed, a cow shed, and several houses with bright red roofs, all made from weatherboard. Two of these cozy houses are rented out to people on holiday. Many visitors come from other parts of the West and East Falkland islands, looking for a peaceful getaway.

The Famous Gardens

The gardens at Port Patterson are truly special! They are filled with many different kinds of plants that have been brought in from other places. You can see colorful fuchsias, tall lupins, and pretty dog roses. There are also some interesting trees, like the sturdy Monterey cypress trees and the unique New Zealand cabbage palms. These gardens add a wonderful, green touch to the settlement.
