The Port of Beirut (Arabic: مرفأ بيروت) is a very important port in Lebanon. It is located on the eastern side of the Saint George Bay, right on Beirut's northern Mediterranean coast. You can find it west of the Beirut River. This port is one of the biggest and busiest ports in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
On August 4, 2020, two very large explosions happened at the port. These explosions sadly caused the deaths of at least 220 people and injured more than 5,000 others.
