History of Post Mills

Post Mills has an interesting past, especially when it comes to fishing!

The Famous Fishing Rod Factory

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Post Mills was home to the T. H. Chubb Rod Factory. This factory was a really big deal because it was the largest fishing rod factory in the entire country! Imagine all the fishing rods made right here.

Later, in the late 1930s, another company called Malmquist Wood Products Company took over the factory. They continued to operate it for many years. However, the factory eventually closed its doors in the 1990s, and the building was taken down in 2010.
