Post Oak, Missouri facts for kids
Post Oak is a small place in Johnson County, Missouri. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, the county government helps manage things there.
You can find Post Oak right on Missouri Route 13. A fun trail called the Rock Island Trail runs just north of this community. It's a great spot for walking or biking!
The History of Post Oak
Post Oak started a long time ago, in the 1850s. It was named after a nearby stream called Post Oak Creek. For many years, the community had its own post office. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, the Post Oak post office closed down in 1954.
