Poul David Reichhardt (born February 2, 1913 – died October 31, 1985) was a famous Danish actor. He was well-known for his roles in Danish movies from the 1940s and 1950s. Later, he also took on more serious and different kinds of roles. He starred in popular TV shows like Huset på Christianshavn and Matador. He also appeared in the Olsen-banden films.

For almost 30 years, Poul Reichhardt was a leading actor in Danish movies. He was also popular on stage. He started acting in 1931 as an extra in a play called Styrmand Karlsens flammer. By the 1930s, he was already making a name for himself.

Poul Reichhardt: A Danish Acting Star

Poul Reichhardt became very famous during World War II. After 1945, he was seen as the perfect movie hero. He often played a simple, clever, and funny man. Sometimes his characters were a bit hot-tempered, but they were always humorous. His talent for acting and singing made him a very popular artist.

Poul Reichhardt continued to be popular even as he got older. He took on new roles, especially on TV. One of his most famous later roles was as Olsen in the TV series Huset på Christianshavn. Olsen was a loud but kind furniture mover.

In 1981, Poul Reichhardt became very ill and needed a wheelchair. He passed away at the age of 72 on October 31, 1985. His son, Peter Reichhardt, also became an actor.
