Prairie Grove is a small village located in McHenry County, Illinois, in the United States. It officially became a village in 1973. According to the 2020 census, about 1,963 people live there.

Village History
People have lived in the area now called Prairie Grove since the early 1800s. This area was once known as Barreville. The Village of Prairie Grove was officially created in 1973. Since 2004, Prairie Grove has been a "home rule community." This means it has more power to make its own local laws.
